I suppose you would call the Cyprus Meze the equivalent of the Spanish Tapas. A Meze is a typical Greek/Cypriot meal made up of many different snacks or appetizers. Although none of the dishes would be a meal in itself if you stack about ten different dishes on the table you definitely have enough food for several. Each dish is rich and tasty and while I was raveness before the meal was put in front of me I was very soon full to bursting. If your planing a short holiday to Cyprus I highly recommend you head for your nearest friendly taverna as soon as possible and try out this culinary experience. Some of the great little dishes we tried were clay oven cooked Lamb, Cypriot smoked ham, Halloumi (of course) and some great Greek meatballs.
