I was just watching some of the news about the Cash for Clunkers program. Can you believe it? All you have to do is bring your car in for them to junk it and they give you $4,500: what a deal! Still, there is a problem: what about those people who have bad credit? What can they do? These people, like all others, have to seek out auto loans for bad credit. That’s just the way it is. And they will likely have to pay much higher interest rates than those who have good credit. I always try to encourage anyone in this situation to really try to see things from the lender’s perspective before buying. Notice what he is likely to respond positively to: a job, a down payment, a recent re-paying of loans. If you take care of these things, then auto credit is probably not too far down the road.
