Hybrid Golf Clubs

The hybrid golf club, or sometimes referred to as the “utility club”, has taken the entire sport of golf by storm. Just about anyone you run into who plays golf regularly can say that some of the hardest clubs to master are the pesky long irons. The hybrid club has come along and alleviated much of the pain associated with swinging the fairway wood down to the five iron and in turn improved scores dramatically for most players.

The hybrids are a mix between fairway woods and irons with the differences being in the gravity being shifted back, a flattened and stiffened clubface, shorter shafts, and the runners on the bottom of the club that help impact with the lie. All of these features allow the hybrid to be extremely versatile with the ability to hit out of the rough, off the tee, from the sand, or on the fairway with ease.

On top of those changes adding accuracy, one can also expect a little extra distance added to their shot when using the hybrid as well. With the increased loft and therefore higher trajectory of shot produced by the hybrid club, your ball won’t roll as much as with a normal iron, but that can be advantageous from time to time. So who would choose the time-tested iron over this new type of club? The answer to that in short is only someone who is a very skilled iron player. Unless you happened to be one of the very few and lucky golfers that can consistently hit the long irons with power, accuracy, and loft, hybrids are a fantastic choice. ‘

And we can be sure to expect that while the popularity of these clubs rises, so will the attributes of them, making them the sure fire club of the future.
