Choose mini meatballs over biscuits with cream cheese and sweet chili sauce

The mini meatballs contain about 10 grams less of fat as the cream cheese biscuits. But don’t eat more than 4 meatballs as they are still relatively high in fat.

Choose peanuts over samoosas

Choose chicken kebabs over sticky chicken wings

Opt for the chicken that is skinless as chicken skin is very high in fat.

Drink sparkling wine/wine spritzer over cocktail of strawberry daiquiri

For drinks rather go with the sparkling wine or the wine spritzer. The strawberry cocktail is loaded with calories and sugar.

Choose fruit salad over ice cream

When you are luckily enough to choose, go for the fruit salad over the ice cream.

2. Eat something before going to the party

Fill yourself up before going to the party and you will eat much less. Good food choices would be soup, a salad or a whole wheat sandwich.

3 Watch your alcohol intake

All your good intentions will fly out the door if you have too much alcohol. So stick to no more than 3 drinks.

4. Don’t mingle around the food tables

Standing around the food tables can make you eat more without even noticing it.

5. Say no to seconds

Politely decline when the host offers you more chocolate cake.
