Why Choose Electrolysis for Hair Removal

Hair removal is a chore that few of us enjoy. There seems to be no one method which is cheap, easy, fast and painless unless you count shaving where the hairs grow back almost as fast as you can shave them off. Above all, we would like a permanent solution to unwanted hair growth so that we don’t have to go through the process of removing hair over and over again – and it would be nice not to have to worry about unsightly regrowth too.

There are only two candidates however in the permanent hair removal stakes : laser hair removal and electrolysis. Of these, only electrolysis can promise the permanent removal of all hair, so it has to be the favorite, right?

Wrong!

Laser hair removal has become increasingly popular in recent years because it is much faster than electrolysis, less painful and can be used to good effect in removing hair from larger areas of the body such as the legs or back. Although it can promise only a permanent reduction in hair growth, in most cases that reduction is sufficient for most people to be pleased with their treatment and to pay for further treatment for other parts of their bodies.

So why choose electrolysis at all?

With electrolysis, you go through a painstaking process of having each hair individually treated while an electric current is passed down the hair shaft via a probe. If the hair is at the right stage of growth and if the probe targets the right area of the hair follicle with sufficient current, the hair will be permanently destroyed and will not grow back. Because of the hit and miss nature of the process, each hair may need to be treated several times but eventually it will be destroyed.

Electrolysis is particularly valuable in cases where you do not want to worry about regrowth at all and you want permanent removal rather than reduction in hair. It is ideal for facial hair removal for women as it will get rid of the problem of unwanted face hair for good and treating such a small area does not take an excessive amount of time.
