The Many Benefits of Laser Liposuction

There are many benefits that laser liposuction offers both patients and surgeons. It is an assistive method to the tumescent liposuction technique which is a predecessor to super wet liposuction which uses the injection of liquids before the actual surgery. The injection contains chemicals and medicines including the local anesthesia to numb the area being treated.

During laser lipo, the laser is guided into the area where the unwanted body fat is to be removed. The heat from the laser melts the fat and breaks it down into fatty particles which is picked up by a tiny suction tube and removed from the area. There will be some remaining fatty substances that are loose in the area but they are in trace amounts and can be picked up and removed naturally as waste by the body’s cleansing system.

Three Types of Liposuction

One of the most common cosmetic surgeries in the United States today is liposuction.  What many people don’t realize though is that there are various forms of liposuction.  Therefore, this article is going to provide a brief description of the three most common types of liposuction.

The first form of liposuction is tumescent liposuction.  During this procedure, a surgeon administers a lidocaine and epinephrine solution to a patient’s body part.  This solution acts as an anesthetic.  Additionally, the solution causes the patient’s fatty deposits to swell, making it easier for the surgeon to remove them.  Once the fat deposits swell, the surgeon uses a reed like device called a cannula, to remove the swollen fatty deposits.

All the benefits of traditional liposuction with minimal risk of the common side effects is now possible with the availability of laser liposuction as a way to remove unwanted body fat. The most important thing to remember when shopping for a liposuction surgeon is that the risk lies in the skills and experience of the surgeon. Once the patient is undergoing the procedure their physical well-being is placed in the hands of another person. Hopefully, the patient did enough research to ensure that the surgeon is properly trained and qualified to perform the treatment. That is the reason why no one should shop for a surgeon based on who offers the lowest prices. It is well worth the extra money to have a surgeon who is both trained and experienced so that they can produce the best possible results.
